We’re hiring!

Background

Simudyne’s vision is to become the global leader in deploying enterprise simulations that help leaders:

  • formulate strategic plans;
  • optimise key processes and value chains;
  • train and manage people, and
  • improve the performance of their firms into the future.

Our global operations are managed from Luxembourg with key offices in the United Kingdom and United States. We are committed to pioneering 21st century management science and simulation technologies, based on the discovery and expression of deep insights into the dynamics of complex adaptive systems and transformational technology.

Clients to date include key players in the petrochemical, financial services, homeland security, and healthcare sectors. We are fortunate to work with a number of global multinational corporations and understand how to operate across the spectrum of local to global business.

More information can be found online at: http://www.simudyne.com

With a number of new contracts coming online, Simudyne is looking to engage additional people with whom we can co-create client solutions.

Personal Attributes

We like to work with people who are curious, self-motivated, and engaging. We want to hear about your passion: not just for work, but for music, skateboarding, photography, or whatever it is that you engage with. We believe that passion and curiosity are key to engaging with life rather than just living it.

We want your enthusiasm, dedication, and willingness to be challenged to deliver. In return, we will mentor, guide, and work to develop your skills and practical experience.

If this sounds like you, .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). We’re waiting.

We are currently focused on three role categories. High-level descriptions for each follow.

Role 1: Project Executives

Project Executives are typically involved in day-to-day client project activities. As such, Project Executives are expected to be based on site at client locations and to act as the ‘face-of-Simudyne’ in day-to-day client activities.

Project Executives combine hard Project Management skills with soft Customer Liaison capabilities. Working to a Simudyne Project or Operations Director, Project Executives are responsible for managing timelines, personnel, and communications for the project they are responsible for.

Candidates for this role will typically have demonstrable Project Management experience, ideally to a recognised standard such as PMP or PRINCE-2. Proven practical experience with, for example, the use of Microsoft Project for a multi-WBS, multi-month project will be required if no recognised standard has been attained. Experience of working with agile methods is a major bonus.

Role 2: Simudyne Simulation Platform Developers

Platform Developers work to create and deliver solutions that build on and extend Simudyne’s core platform toolset. As such, Platform Developers may be based onsite or off, depending on the nature of the project at hand.

Platform Developers work to define, develop, orchestrate, and implement solutions that include both capabilities composed from library functionality and new capabilities developed to meet the client’s need.

Candidates for this role will typically have at least one year’s demonstrable experience with Java development. This will typically be at J2SE level and will ideally include practical experience with Scala. Additional languages of interest include Ruby (ideally with Rails and/or Sinatra frameworks) and JavaScript. Experience with databases, RESTful interfaces, web services, and other components is a plus.

Role 3: Interface Developers (2D and 3D)

3D/Interface Developers create the surface to Simudyne solutions. Surfaces can range from a 2D dashboard to a fully immersive 3D environment, with everything from a cognitive display to visual analytics in between.

3D/Interface Developers combine hard interface development skills with softer human-centred interface and information architecture capabilities. Depending on the interface required, the role spans re-creating an existing real-world place through to translating complex datasets into intuitive visual displays.

Candidates for this role will typically have demonstrable interface design and development skills. For 3D Developers, experience with OpenSIM (or SecondLife) or Unity is preferred. For other interface developers, experience with Java graphics, HTML5/CSS3, Processing, Prefuse, or similar is required.
